The thought of my suffering and homelessness is bitter beyond words. I will never forget this awful time, as I grieve over my loss. Yet I still dare to hope when I remember this: The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!”
LAMENTATIONS 3:19–24 NLT
Heavenly Father, sometimes our hopes are dashed in this world. Things don’t turn out the way we had planned and we watch our desires slip from our grasp. We lose things. We lose people. Sometimes we just lose. But Your Word kindles hope in my soul. Your faithful love has no end. Every morning I can begin again with a fresh helping of Your mercy. I may not achieve greatness or success in this world, but You are my inheritance. I am a daughter with a royal endowment waiting for me. I do have a sparkling future to look forward to—with You. Keep my heart from bitterness, Lord, when happiness flees and suffering resides with me. I will grip tightly to my hope in You. Amen.
Filled with Hope Devotions and Prayers will walk you through 200 inspiring, heartfelt, hope-filled prayers that will help your soul discover true peace and contentment in an ever-growing relationship with your heavenly Father, the hope giver Himself.
